Unlimited SMS

To be able to send SMS's using Lead LinQ you will need an phone number.

If you don't require sms capabilities, then you do not need to choose one of these options.

If you do want to be able to send SMS directly and through automations, then you have 2 options.

Variable Cost or Fixed Cost. They are two different set up options.

Variable Cost

  • Pay as you go, per SMS segment and each inbound and outbound call

  • Monthly phone number fee (typically $6.50) + $7.7c per sms segment

  • Costs can add up significantly especially if you want to do SMS marketing

  • Worry about character limits

  • Design SMS marketing campaigns to fit in 160 characters or risk doubling your next bill

  • Does have calling and call forwarding ability

  • 2 week set up (thanks Australian Regulators)

  • Does have calling and call forwarding ability

  • Suitable for low volume sms

Fixed Cost

  • Predictable, flat fee

  • Can use existing physical or eSIM or we will purchase a new one for you at no extra cost

  • No worrying about character limits

  • Send as many segments as you want

  • Design your SMS marketing to be high converting, conversational and dynamic to increase sales

  • Same day set up

  • Suited if sending over 2500 segments per month

  • No calling ability through the Lead LinQ app yet - this is a work in progress.

    However you can call using the mobile as per normal, just not through the app.


FAQ's

Is it really unlimited SMS?

Yes!

There will be a ramp up period before you can start sending bulk sms's (hundreds or thousands per day), but for one fixed fee, you can send as many sms's as you like and not have to worry about exceeding 160 characters and doubling the cost, or limit your business to only sending so many sms's per month because you don't want a high phone bill!

I want to send out bulk SMS, is that possible?

Yes, bulk SMS's are sent out in a drip, we typically send 1 per minute. If higher volumes are required to get your content out faster, we will set up more sims to accommodate

Can I make phone calls?

Only if you have the phone itself.

We have 2 options -

  1. We hold the phone for you and you are able to send sms's from it using the Lead LinQ app on your computer (app.leadlinq.io) or through the Lead Connector mobile app on any iphone or android device. You are not able to make phone calls from this number if we hold the phone.

    For users that choose this option, we have an automation that replies to any missed calls with an sms letting them know your business's phone number to call.

  2. You hold the phone. Then yes, you are able to make and receive calls as you wish but they will not appear in the Lead LinQ or Lead Connector system as you are bypassing these and using the phone like a normal phone.

What are the legal reqirements?

Each country is subject to local laws and regulations. In Australia, SMS marketing is regulated by the Spam Act 2003 and enforced by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). Here are the key legal requirements:

  1. Consent is Required

  2. Identify Yourself

  3. Provide an Unsubscribe Option

  4. No Messaging Outside Reasonable Hours

  5. Avoid High-Frequency Messaging

  6. Comply with the Do Not Call Register

Legal

In Australia, SMS marketing is regulated by the Spam Act 2003 and enforced by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).

Here are the key legal requirements:

1. Consent is Required

You must have the recipient’s permission before sending marketing SMS messages.

There are two types of consent:

Express consent – The recipient actively agrees (e.g., opting in via a form or checkbox).

Inferred consent – A relationship exists where marketing messages are expected (e.g., a recent purchase or inquiry).

2. Identify Yourself

Each message must clearly identify:

The business name, Contact details (phone number, email, or website)

3. Provide an Unsubscribe Option

Every marketing SMS must include a clear and functional opt-out method, such as:

Replying "STOP" to unsubscribe Clicking a link to opt out

Unsubscribe requests must be honored within five working days.

4. No Messaging Outside Reasonable Hours

While there’s no strict rule, marketing messages should typically be sent between 9 AM and 8 PM (local time) to avoid complaints.

5. Avoid High-Frequency Messaging

Sending excessive messages can be considered spam or harassment. Stick to reasonable intervals.

6. Comply with the Do Not Call Register

If a number is on the Do Not Call Register, you cannot send marketing messages unless the recipient has explicitly opted in.

7. No Misleading or Deceptive Content

Messages must not contain false claims, misleading statements, or deceptive offers - this can lead to penalties under Australian Consumer Law

Penalties for Non-Compliance

ACMA can impose fines of up to $2.2 million per breach for serious violations. Recent cases have seen businesses fined hundreds of thousands of dollars for spam breaches.
